Q: What is uPVC?
A: The acronym “uPVC,” stands for “Unplasticised Poly-Vinyl Chloride.” It is a material that is used for doors and windows which is superior to aluminum, steel and timber systems. It is strong, tough and resilient.
PVC, which is commonly known, contains resins (plasticisers) that make the product flexible. uPVC is unplasticised, meaning it contains no resins, which creates a rigid structure.
Q: What are the colour options available?
A: Our uPVC windows and doors come in one colour; white.
White surfaces reflect heat and also allow the client to change the colour palette of walls, curtains and furniture over time. Darker colours allow more heat to be transmitted into rooms.
Q: Why should I purchase uPVC as opposed to Steel or Aluminum?
A: uPVC requires little to no maintenance, does not require any painting, will not fade, will not leak, and will not corrode.
Why do we use it? Our windows outperform products made from other materials, do not transfer heat, will not rot, darken, fade or peel, and are eco-friendly.
Steel rusts quickly, and becomes expensive to maintain as it requires continuous painting to improve its appearance. Furthermore, it is not made to any specifications, does not seal well, and over time is not aesthetically pleasing because of rust stains. The glass tends to not hold well because the putty used dry rots over time, causing leakage and may even fall out jeopardizing safety and security.
Aluminum and its components tend to oxidize and erode especially in high salt environments, the corners leak and the rubber gaskets shrink in the Caribbean's humidity. Once the rubber gaskets fail the glass unit can easily be removed.
Aluminum must be coated, surfaces tend to chip and the exposed base metal will start to rust at this location and cannot be repaired. Painted frames will fade over time.
Additionally, a large amount of damage to Aluminum frames often happens on the job site before the client moves in.
Q: What type of maintenance is needed on uPVC windows?
A: To keep them in perfect condition, simply wipe with a damp cloth and avoid abrasives. Although this product is considered to be maintenance free, regular cleaning will ensure that your windows will remain looking as good as the first day they were installed.
Q: Do you have energy efficient window options?
A: uPVC frames do not radiate solar energy like metal windows. Laminate and Solar E glass provide heat insulation as well with Solar E reducing heat gain by 50%.
This glass will pay for itself over time and provide long term cost savings as electricity consumption is lessened as air conditioning capacity reduces. It also helps with the premature fading of curtains and drapes as they receive less UV rays.
Q: Can your windows provide sound reduction?
A: Our Security laminate glass is sound reducing/deadening eliminating a tremendous amount of outdoor noise such as cars, dogs, music etc.
Q: What's the Warranty on your windows?
A: All uPVC frames are guaranteed for twenty (20) years. Hardware and laminated glass are guaranteed for five (5) years.
Q: Do you provide installation?
A: Installation is provided by the company at an additional cost.
Q: Do you customize windows?
A: We offer several sizes, types and combinations of products. We have thousands of customisation options for both windows and doors including different grill options, bug screens and several glass thickness and colour options.
Q: Do you offer glass replacements if needed and the time frame?
A: Glass can be replaced for any previous order in the company’s database.
Q: Can I paint the windows?
A: We do not recommend that the windows be painted. If painted the warranty will be voided.
Q: Will the hinges and operating hardware stand up to sea blast/rainy season?
All hinges and operating hardware are high-grade stainless steel (300 Series) and would stand up to sea blast once maintained properly.
